Cookie Policy

Last updated 14 July 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Base7 uses cookies and similar technologies on this website, the categories and purposes for which they are used, the legal basis for their use, and how you can exercise control over them. It is issued in accordance with the Data Protection Regulations 2021 of the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM).

01

Introduction and scope

This Cookie Policy (the "Policy") applies to the website operated by Base7 (the "Website") and forms part of, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy. Terms defined in the Privacy Policy have the same meaning in this Policy. By continuing to use the Website with non-essential cookies enabled, you consent to the use of those cookies as described here.

02

Definitions

  • "Cookie" means a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit, used to store and retrieve information about your browsing.
  • "Similar technologies" means pixels, tags, web beacons, software development kits, local and session storage, and comparable technologies that perform functions similar to cookies. References in this Policy to "cookies" include such technologies.
  • "First-party cookie" means a cookie set by Base7. "Third-party cookie" means a cookie set by a party other than Base7.
  • "Session cookie" means a cookie that expires when you close your browser. "Persistent cookie" means a cookie that remains on your device for a defined period or until deleted.
03

What cookies are and how they work

Cookies allow a website to recognise your device, remember information about your visit and preferences, keep the service secure, and understand how the service is used. Cookies do not typically contain information that directly identifies you, but Personal Data that we store about you may be linked to information stored in, and obtained from, cookies. Where cookies enable us to identify you, directly or indirectly, the information is treated as Personal Data and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

04

Legal basis and consent

We use strictly necessary cookies on the basis of our legitimate interests in providing a secure and functioning Website; these do not require consent. All other cookies, namely performance and analytics, functional and marketing cookies, are set only where you have given consent through the cookie banner or the cookie preference centre. In accordance with the Regulations, consent is sought before non-essential cookies are placed, is given by a clear affirmative act, and may be withdrawn or varied at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

05

Categories of cookies we use

We classify the cookies used on the Website into the following categories:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the Website to operate and for features you have requested. They include cookies that maintain security, balance load, preserve session state and record your cookie choices. Because the Website cannot function properly without them, they cannot be disabled through our preference centre and do not require consent. Typically first-party and session or short-lived persistent cookies.
  • Performance and analytics cookies. Collect information about how visitors use the Website, such as which pages are visited most often and whether errors occur, on an aggregated basis, so that we can measure and improve performance. They do not directly identify you. Set only with consent. May be first- or third-party and persistent.
  • Functional cookies. Enable enhanced functionality and personalisation, such as remembering your preferences, language or region. Set only with consent. If you do not allow them, some or all of these features may not function correctly.
  • Marketing cookies. Used to deliver and measure communications and content that are more relevant to you, and may be set by us or by advertising and social media partners. They may build a profile of your interests. Set only with consent.
06

Third-party cookies

Some cookies are placed by third parties that provide services to us, such as analytics, content delivery and security providers, or that are embedded in content on the Website. These third parties may process information in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies, over which we have limited control. We engage such providers under contractual arrangements and, where they act as our Processors, require them to process data only on our instructions. Where a third party acts as an independent controller, you should consult its own policies.

07

Duration of cookies

Cookies remain on your device for different periods. Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them, with retention periods set no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which the cookie is used. You can delete persistent cookies at any time through your browser settings.

08

Managing your preferences

You can review and change your consent at any time using our preference centre. Use the button below to open it.

You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse or accept cookies, delete existing cookies, and be notified when a cookie is set. The methods for doing so vary between browsers and versions; please refer to your browser's help function. Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal; because there is no common industry standard for interpreting such signals, the Website does not currently respond to them, and instead relies on the controls described in this Policy.

09

Consequences of disabling cookies

If you block or delete cookies, the Website may not function as intended and certain features may be unavailable. In particular, blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Website from working and may prevent us from recording your cookie preferences, in which case you may be asked to set them again.

10

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law. The date at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised, and continued use of the Website following any change constitutes acknowledgement of the amended Policy.
